Message from Omubejja Mazzi, Wakiso District Councilor

During the inception meeting, Mazzi Deborah, Wakiso District Councilor for Persons with Disabilities who is also visually impaired, emphasised the importance of collective effort.
“Wakiso District always sets an example for other districts in Uganda. Working together, let us build a Uganda where disability is not considered a burden but a perspective that enriches us all,” she stated. Deborah called on stakeholders to collaborate in implementing the project. She urged community members, school administrators, religious institutions, and families to open more opportunities for persons with disabilities. “We want our community to be more inclusive so that all children with disabilities, regardless of their abilities and gender, can learn and grow,” he appealed. He also called on donors and partners to provide resources, including funding, supportive devices and medical supplies, to support local organisations like Lamicare DRO Uganda.
